Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is one element of dentistry that looks at restoring the condition, balance, function and arrangement of your teeth. This may involve fillings, replacing missing teeth with implants or crowns or bridges.

Need to repair damaged teeth?

We will be more than happy to assess your dental issues and formulate an affordable plan to rectify any issues you may have.

How much tooth damage can we restore?

Depending on the damage done, there can be a full reversal of tooth damage or partial.

If teeth have been exposed to an acidic environment for a short time, then the natural buffering of saliva will help prevent tooth damage. However, the longer the duration of teeth in acidic conditions and the higher the frequency then this leads to irreversible damage to tooth enamel and decay forms.

If you have chipped your tooth, a simple filling maybe all that is required.

The more damage the tooth has been subjected to, the more protection it needs to prevent it from fracturing further.

The longer you leave any damaged teeth untreated, the worse the situation may become. If in any doubt, call us for advice or to book in a consult to discuss your options.

Our Procedures

All on 4

All on 4 is a procedure replacing a failing dentition with 4 to 6 implants which holds a full set of prosthetic teeth. This not only gives full function back, but fundamentally improves confidence and self-esteem. For most patients, it is life changing.

Root Canals

Root canal treatment is a procedure needed when the nerve centre of the tooth has become infected or has died, and the only way to save the tooth from extraction, is to have this treatment.

Dental Bridges

Bridges are an implant-less tooth replacement method. It is used to replace a missing tooth or teeth, by crowning or capping neighbouring teeth either side of the gap in the mouth, to house a faux tooth that will replace your missing tooth/teeth.

Dental Crowns & Caps

Crowns or caps can be described as crash helmets for teeth that are badly damaged or fractured.
Crowns encapsulate the whole tooth to restore strength and therefore function to the tooth.

Dental Implants

Tooth loss is a prevalent issue, often stemming from factors such as decay, trauma, or advanced gum disease. Additionally, some individuals may experience congenitally missing teeth, which refers to teeth that are genetically absent.

Dentures

Dentures are a cost effective method of replacing teeth in a short period of time. They can be used as an interim option after a tooth is lost and can be worn to keep the space for the implant and of course to maintain aesthetics.

Frequently Asked Questions
regarding Restorative Dentistry

There really is no option to restorative dentistry. If something is broken you fix it, or risk further problems later one. Ultimately in the mouth if a tooth is fractured and causing it to be lost, more pressure is applied to the remaining teeth. These teeth will manage for the short term but eventually they will become overpowered and they themselves will fail too.

No but neglect is!

Issues that are not dealt with early enough will turn out to be more troublesome and likely costing you more time and money. Prevention is better than cure, but if you encounter dental problems early on, being proactive is the answer.

The clean after the check up was gentle, but thorough on my sensitive teeth.. and tv on the ceiling was a welcome distraction.
