Dental care for life
Dental care and needs are very different for each age group and life stage. The needs of an adult or elderly person are of course not the same as for a pre-schooler on their first visits to the dentist. We've put together a list of what you can expect when you visit your dentist depending on your life stage.
Our article looks at what your dentist will look for and the sorts of issues they take into consideration from babies and pre-schoolers through to teenagers and senior citizens.

Accidents can happen when you least expect them
As the winter sports season gets into full swing, you might like to consider the benefits of a custom-fitted mouthguard for yourself or your child.
A mouthguard helps to absorb and spread the impact of a blow to your face, which might otherwise result in an injury. A custom-fitted mouthguard will provide a better fit than other generic varieties, as it is made to suit your individual needs. It will also allow you to speak clearly when wearing it, and won’t restrict your breathing.
If a mouthguard hasn’t been used for a while, if a child has lost teeth or their mouth has changed or grown, their mouthguard may no longer be the perfect fit.
Your new mouthguard can be designed and custom-fitted at Bayside Family Dentistry to maximise the safety of your teeth and mouth. A range of colours and designs are available on request so you can personalise your new mouthguard and make it unique. For example, many kids choose to have their mouthguard created in their team colours.
Junior mouthguards (12 years old and under) start at $90, intermediate mouthguards (13-16 year olds) start at $100 and senior mouthguards (17+ years) start at $160.
We also offer dental services for emergency situations.
